If you’ve been living under a rock and crawled out of it today, I have two questions for you: Why in the world-is-currently-a-charred-chode-pimple HELL would you crawl out? And, can you give me the GPS coordinates of that rock so I can move in with you? Okay third question, does your under-a-rock place also have WiFi because I do need my porn. But if you just crawled out of a no-WiFi-having rock, then you may not know that it’s been reported (and confirmed by a Senator) that President Shithole 4 A Mouth said, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” while talking with lawmakers about immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and parts of Africa. Trump twatted this morning that he was pretty much misquoted. I believe him. What he really said was probably: Why are we having all these brown trash bags from shithole cunt lands come here?
So because my family is from El Salvador, I’m paying tribute to one of the gifts from that “shithole” country. El Salvador has gifted the planet with many, many good things like pupusas, The Fabulous Wonder Twins, my mom, and today’s HSOTD: Elotitos Diana!
I don’t know the whole history of Elotitos Diana, so I’m not sure if they were around when I was a kid. Most of my mom’s family lived in the U.S. (or “that shithole country” as Norwegians might call it now) when I was a kid, so I didn’t get that many treasures from there. But when one of my aunts retired in El Salvador, she brought stuff back every time she paid us a visit. And one of those things was Elotitos Diana.
Elotitos, which I just learned I can get here, are made by the Salvadoran snack brand Diana. Elotitos are like Corn Nuts and come in flavors like Con piquete, Con limón, cheese covered and BBQ. It’s completely normal to inhale one bag of Elotitos in one sitting, and it’s also normal to knife fight your cousin for the last bag.
Not only are Elotitos salty deliciousness, but they have a hot name too. If I ever decide to do drag and come up with a character whose aesthetic is “Princess Diana if she later became a corn mogul,” I’d go with the name Elotitos Diana.
