A Brooklyn Brewery Was Told To Quit Selling Its Beyoncé Beer

In the dark, sullen era we live in where North Korea is about to lob a nuke our way and net neutrality is threatened, celebrities are really getting their priorities straight: snuffing out those tweens on Etsy and craft brewers who use their likeness to hawk homemade shit!

While Taylor Swift has made an art form out of shutting down fan shops on Etsy with her cease and desist letters, Netflix kinda emerged as the cool kid about it when they told a Stranger Things pop-up bar in Chicago to shut down or else they’d send the Demogorgon (or spooky-eyed awards season Winona Ryder) to put an end to their little watering hole. It appears Beyoncé errs on the side of the former. Pitchfork says Brooklyn’s Lineup Brewing got a cease and desist letter over their Bïeryoncé pilsner. Yoncé would never be caught dead sipping a beer unless it had a partnership with Tidal, so owner Katarina Martinez was told to turn the taps off when supplies run out:

“As a Hispanic, female run business, I am very inspired by her so I thought I’d pay homage. We’re disappointed she didn’t take it as a compliment, but oh well. It was fun while it lasted!”

Beyoncé doesn’t take it as a compliment unless you let her have total control over the Instagram filters you’re allowed to use for the bottle art and what song from Sasha Fierce the bar plays to coincide with each sip.Billboard notes this is not the first time Katarina has paid tribute to artists. She had a Carly Simon I Bet You Think This Beer Is About You,” a Freddie Mercury and David Bowie Under Pressure,” and a Notorious B.I.G.Notorious.” Katarina probably had a TSwift “Look What You Made Me EW THIS BEER IS DISGUSTING!” IPA, but knew Taylor would sue on account she only drinks in the disappointing first week sales figures of ex-squad members!
