Aaron Carter Is Getting Help

Aaron Carter has checked into rehab, according to Page Six. The Doctors’ guest star and counter-terrorism expert has been involved in a slew of messy incidents lately, including police calling on his house 3x in a 24 hour period and a serious (and dramatic) car accident as well as an earlier arrest for DUI.

Aaron’s family has reportedly been consulting with the authorities and addiction specialists to figure out how to intervene and get the opposite of healthy-looking Aaron some help. Luckily (for his body, cause – DAMN), Aaron is said to have entered a rehab facility of his own free will. It’s great that he’s going to try and get better but I do sort of feel bad for the other members of his future therapy group. Those poor souls are going to have to hear umpteen humblebrags about how he was the mud puddle in a Lindsay Lohan/Hilary Duff tug-of-war back in the Roaring 90s.

Aaron’s rep (that guy must work for peanuts) released a statement.

“Aaron has decided to enter a facility to improve his health and work on his overall wellness. He is going to do this privately and focus all his attention on being the best person and performer possible. He is grateful for the support and love from his fans and looks forward to coming back stronger than ever before.”

Aaron also tweeted about going away for awhile, and announced that a new version of his 2000 cover of Bow Wow Wow’s hit “I Want Candy” is coming out!
