Sherri Shepherd’s Ex Wants More Child Support Money

There it is, the more obvious headline I’ve ever written, because of course Sherri Shepherd’s grifty ex-husband Lamar Sally wants more child support money. That’s like saying a dog wants to sniff more dog butts.

People says that Lamar Sally has recently filed legal documents requesting an increase in child support for his 2-year-old son Lamar Sally Jr. Lamar Jr. was made with Papa Lamar’s sperm and a donor egg and was born after Lamar and Sherri called it quits. A judge later ruled that Sherri is the legal mother of Lamar Jr. As of March, Sherri was paying Lamar $4,100 every month for child support, but he needs more money. Lamar claims that Sherri was making a little over $1 million a year when they decided on the $4,100 number. He now believes and “has been informed” that Sherri is making closer to $3 million a year.

Lamar says he needs a piece of Sherri’s bigger paycheck because his is so small. Lamar works – that may be the most shocking part of this story – as a substitute teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District and makes between $140 and $186 per day. He also claims Lamar Sally Jr. is sick with a genetic disorder called G6PD, and needs the money to treat his son with a special diet and organic food.

The documents don’t specify how much of an increase Lamar wants in those child support checks. Since he’s a beacon of restraint, I’m sure it won’t be something ridiculously tacky, like a 200% increase. He did, however, get specific with some money he believes Sherri owes him for all the times she’s tried to fight him in court. Lamar alleges that all those trips to court have cost him more than $150,000 in legal fees. He wants $75,000.

Wait, so Lamar Sally wants an increase in child support from “lots” to “more“, but he’s willing to take a 50% cut on his legal fees? Lamar, no! You’re playing the #getmoney game wrong! You’re supposed to say your legal fees have been $150,000, but you need at least $400,000 for the pain and suffering it took to add up all your bills. Come on, Lamar, you know this.
