Sandra Bullock Adopted Another Kid After All

A couple of months ago, Radar said that America’s former sweetheart (1995-2009) Sandra Bullock adopted a little girl. At the time, Sandy B was really careful with her words and only said that she has one adopted child, her 5-year-old son Louis, living in her house and if she adopted another one, she’d tell everyone. Well, now she’s telling everyone on the cover of People that she has adopted a 3-year-old named Laila (pronounced Lila). Laila was in foster care in Louisiana. Laila & Louis sounds like the name of a local morning talk show where Louis says crazy, zany things and Laila always rolls her eyes at him while sipping from a mug of tea. I hope that morning talk show happens and I hope they take Live! With Kelly And Michael out!

Sandra tells People that she kept it on the shush, because the adoption wasn’t finalized yet and she didn’t want to do anything to fuck it up. When the rumors made the rounds, Laila was technically living in Sandra’s house, but the adoption wasn’t official. So when Sandra was asked if she adopted another child, she simply said that there’s not another “adopted child” living in her home. Sandy B outsmarted those bitches! At one point, the paps got a picture of Sandra with Laila at the hospital and it went up for sale. The adoption was still in the processing stage and she signed a confidentiality agreement promising not to release any pictures of the child to a third party. Sandra’s lawyers had to threaten the tabloids so that the adoption wouldn’t fall apart.

Sandra says that the choice to add another kid to their family was made three years ago and it was Louis’ idea. Louis told her that he wanted a sibling who has “some brown skin.” Here are some words she said about her family:

“When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here,” says Bullock, who adopted son Louis, 5, in 2010.

“I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time,” she adds.

“Louis spearheaded this whole journey,” she says, and while the two siblings have since formed an inseparable bond, Bullock says the first stages of bringing Laila home required patience and plenty of reassurance.

“I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren’t going anywhere,” she says of her daughter, who has brought “pink and glitter in the house mixed with Legos and Batmans.”

“My family is blended and diverse, nutty, and loving and understanding,” she says. “That’s a family.”

The pictures of Sandra and her kids were taken by her piece, photographer and ~dreamboat~, Bryan Randall. That cover makes a whole lot of sense now. At first I thought Sandra’s Photoshopped face was saying, “I’m tired. I want to sleep.” But now that I know that Bryan Randall took the picture, it’s clear that she’s saying, “Yes, Bryan, I know there’s some dog shit on the lawn over there, but can you just take the goddamn picture before you throw a stupid hissy fit?
