When you order a cup of Franzia on ice and a Slim Jim at Panama Joe’s in Bridgeport, CT, the glamorous memaw serving it to you has been serving up the sweet nectar to hos since probably before your daddy was chilling inside of your granddaddy’s nutsack. Angie, who is the owner and grand dame of Panama Joe’s, started bartending when she worked at General Electric in the olden days (it was called General Candles then) and she hasn’t stopped. Angie has poured more gallons of vodka than White Oprah pours into her drunk hole on any given 4-day weekend.
Angie works 8 hours a day, 6 days a week and she’s never going to stop. When we all get to the waiting line in heaven, Angie will be there serving us Jack and gingers at the cash bar.
