Farewell, Art Linkletter
May 26, 2010 / Posted by: Michael K
Your granpappy’s favorite TV host Art Linkletter rode his Crafmatic all the way to heaven today at the age of 97. Art’s son-in-law, also named Art, told The Los Angeles Times that he died at his home in Bel Air, California.
Art was the host of the radio (remember that?) and TV show House Party for 25 years. House Party featured a famous segment called “Kids Say the Darndest Things,” which later became a full series starring Billy Cosby. If they did that show again today, all the kids would probably tell the host to fuck off or to get them a beer.
Art is survived by his wife of 75 years Lois.
Art is somewhere up in heaven now probably slapping Divine for his role in The Diane Linkletter Story.
