Kelly Rutherford’s Ex Isn’t Going To Get $1.5 Million From Her

Kelly Rutherford had been fighting with her ex-husband Daniel Giersch over custody of their two kids, 10-year-old Hermes and 7-year-old Helena, for almost 10 years. That dramatic saga ended a little over a year ago, when a judge awarded Daniel full custody. Kelly also had some money woes. Things aren’t great in that department either.

Kelly ended up filing for bankruptcy in 2013, because she spent all her money on lawyers and visiting her kids in Europe. The Daily Mail says that Kelly’s bankruptcy was finally sorted out last Wednesday.

Kelly reportedly owed $1.1 million to her custody lawyers, $220,000 to her divorce lawyers, $36,300 to American Express, and more than $350,000 in unpaid taxes. Daniel claimed Kelly owed him $1.5 million for lawyer bills relating to their custody and divorce battle.

After her assets (listed at about $24,000) were subtracted from her liabilities, there wasn’t a lot leftover to hand out. Kelly’s divorce and custody lawyers will be getting zero dollars. Same with AmEx. They don’t say how much went to cover her unpaid tax bill. As for Daniel, well – I hope Daniel didn’t go ahead and put a down payment on a $1.5 million boat while he was waiting for Kelly’s case to get closed. Out of the $1.5 million Daniel claims Kelly owed him, he’ll be getting a check made out for $163,000.

Kelly hasn’t said anything about this, but on the day that her bankruptcy case was settled, she Instagrammed this:

Um, Kelly can’t afford peonies. She should stick to the carnations and baby’s breath for now.

Kelly’s life is a non-stop mess, and I just want to know HOW. How many ladders has she walked under while carrying a black mirror-smashing cat on Friday the 13th? It’s like the Universe has a target on her ass. If I were her, I’d change my name and dye my hair to try to throw the Universe off a bit, even for a year.
