Olivia Newton-John Hates “Grease 2”

Show me a person who looks at that stunning work of art above and can honestly say that they hate the movie that made it possible, and I’ll show you a not-knowing trick whose opinion should never ever be trusted again! And one of those tricks is Olivia Newton-John.

Grease 2 was the Showgirls of its time and was a million times better than Grease. (I hear you bitches laughing at me! Shut those lips and go sit with Olivia in the section marked “We Don’t Know Shit!“) The only reason why the universe decided to make Grease a gigantic success is so that Grease 2 could be born. And well, it’s obvious that some of Grease’s stars are a little salty about that still.

Olivia Newton-John was on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live earlier this week and a caller asked her what she thinks about Grease 2. An ice cold chill swept across my eyes and ears when Olivia laughed and said she doesn’t think much of the worthier Grease. Olivia said that she and John Travolta were in talks to do it, but the studio went with “other people.” Other people?! Lucifer just added Olivia Newton-John’s name to his VIP list for calling the legendary Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxwell Caulfield other people.

“Not a lot. Actually, I kind of remember they did ask John and I. They approached John and I to do it and then it didn’t happen. I didn’t think it was going to happen, and then they made it with other people. So that’s my memory of it.”

But seriously, I know why Olivia Newton-John doesn’t like Grease 2 very much. Every one of her words in that quote is made of rock solid jealousy. Olivia wishes she would’ve been the one to coo out Cool Rider, and every night when everyone in her house is asleep, she puts on a stunning Christmas tree dress and does the Michelle Pfeiffer part in Girl For All Seasons.

It’s okay, ONJ, you went on to almost greater things like that magnificent music video with John Travolta. I bet Michelle Pfeiffer regularly watches that video and fills to the top with jealousy while wishing that was her.

And here’s Olivia Newton-John wearing her iPhone like a purse at the premiere of HBO’s Divorce on Tuesday night in NYC.
