The Forever Falling Woman in Ukraine!

Walking on a sidewalk covered with ice should be an Olympic sport because it requires skills, nerves of steel wrapped steel, and the patience of a son trying to teach his mother how to text a GIF (and yes, I’m typing from experience as the fuel tank that runs my patience is fucking dry). One false move and you could end up with a busted-ass and definitely not in a sexy way. One woman in Ukraine tried her luck at ice walking and became the mascot for This Is All Of Us In 2020.

CBS News (because this IS news) posted surveillance footage of people in Kyiv carefully walking across a sheet of ice that has covered the city. A few seconds into the video, the woman (who is wearing a backpack) comes into view at the bottom of the screen and immediately goes BOOM on the ground. She gets up but then finds herself in an infinity whirlpool of falling by hitting the ground over and over again. A man tries to help her but eventually shows himself as a true gentleman by giving up and abandoning her in her hour of need! So she goes it on her own and tries to make her way up the street but she keeps busting out an Alicia Keys song over and over again. The woman then realizes that trying to take on the ice with her feet isn’t working out for her so she crawls. And after that idea turns out to be a failure, she decides that maybe walking on the cobblestones will get her where she needs to go and she stumbles out of view. If 2020 was a biopic, this is what it would look like:

Legend has it that the woman is still falling. But really, we are all this woman and this woman is all of us. And after the woman made it across the street, she was probably thinking to herself, “Well, it’s a good thing that not many saw that mess.”
