Az Yet! (And FYI: It’s not short for Arizona Yet.)

Wikipedia tells me that Az Yet was born in the lobby of the Wyndham Hotel in Philadelphia where two of its founding members met, and after adding and dropping and adding a few more members, they signed a deal with LaFace Records in 1996. They were on their way to becoming the Backstreet Boys to Boyz II Men’s *NSYNC! (Or the other way around depending on how you look at it.) That didn’t really happen, but Az Yet did release one of the greatest sensitive fuck time slow jams of 1996.

One of their biggest hits “Last Night” was on their first album and also on The Nutty Professor soundtrack. You weren’t an American teenager in the mid-to-late-90s unless you danced to or watched other teenagers dry hump each other to “Last Night” at a school dance.

“Last Night” is a beautiful musical tale of a man and his lady love who have a life-changing night that involved him drinking her wine (aka earning his red wings) and her tasting his wine (don’t know what the hell that means) before they fucked so good that it brought tears to his eyes. The sweet love they made was so powerful that it put his internal hard drive to sleep and his brain’s screensaver turned on and played scenes from nature. Dude saw the sun, the moon and an episode of Planet Earth. That pussy’s so good it took him on an award-winning journey. That pussy’s so good it made him hear the voice of Sir David Attenborough.
