Open Post: Hosted By IHOP’s Mini Pancake Cereal

Have you ever woken up in the morning and said to yourself, “Should I have pancakes or cereal for breakfast?” Well, Christmas has come early because now you can have both. The mini pancake cereal trend began on TikTok back in 2020, which makes sense since the people on TikTok have the time to make a bunch of mini pancakes. But if you’re too lazy to make a bunch of Kevin Hart-sized pancakes, then there’s IHOP’s Mini Pancake Cereal, which is better late than never.

According to Insider, there was a viral moment that took place two years ago where people were posting videos of making tiny bite-sized pancakes, placing them in a bowl, and eating them with either milk or butter and syrup.

First one foremost, why am I just now hearing about this? I realize it probably occurred during the height of the pandemic, but all I did was eat back then, and I would have eaten the HELL outta this! Pancakes as a cereal? Say less. And IHOP has finally decided that the idea they should have come up with decades ago will be a game changer in the cereal world when they release this deity of deliciousness in a few weeks.

Restaurant chain IHOP and General Mills, which makes Cheerios and Lucky Charms, is releasing a blueberry-and-syrup-flavored mini pancake cereal. The product will appear at some retailers later this month, with a national rollout scheduled for January, IHOP and General Mills said in a statement announcing the cereal.

Pancake cereal took off in early 2020 when TikTok users posted videos of themselves making tiny pancakes – sometimes smaller than a dime. Videos featuring the trend quickly accumulated a billion views, according to Thrillist.

It’s already hard enough trying to decide what to eat in the morning when all I want is a buffet of pizza shoved into my mouth all day. At least this way, I get the nutrition from the milk, right? Then again, I would combine the milk, butter, and syrup into the cereal to create a concoction that should only be devoured by eight-year-olds. And that can’t be good for my cholesterol.
