Paloma Aguilar Unexpectedly Left The “Big Brother” House For Mental Health Reasons

One of the best things about summertime for me is when ride-or-die wife Julie Chen-Moonves shimmies her unchanging face in front of CBS cameras to host the live version of Lord of the Flies called Big Brother. One thing BB has been tasked with is implementing more diversity into its cast, which they successfully did last year. Unfortunately, the new cast has started season 24 with messy lies, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it brings ratings. However, once cast member Paloma Aguilar couldn’t take the pressure of being mean 24 hours a day and she mysteriously departed the show under suspicious circumstances.
Tensions have been high since Big Brother’s premiere last week when Paloma began targeting Black beauty queen Taylor Hale, whom she believed was not worthy to be a part of her all-female alliance called the Girls Girls, which sounds like a failed 2000’s R&B group. Paloma believed Taylor was using her beauty to influence the men of the house and lied about something Taylor said for her own gain. But Taylor was merely leaning on the alliance she already formed, which includes most of the men. This enraged Paloma so much that she threw on her devil horns and launched a campaign that painted Taylor as a liar, although it was really Paloma who performed an Oscar-worthy performance as The Karen Who Cried Wolf. And according to TVLine, during last night’s live eviction show, Paloma’s questionable behavior became one of the main focuses of the episode.
Twenty-five minutes in, Aguilar’s lack of sleep took center stage, as she reported getting only 2-4 hours of sleep per night as a result of anxiety. “I physically cannot sleep in this house,” she told [contestant] Matt Turner. “I really want to leave.” She told other houseguests that she was unable to eat or sleep, causing them to worry for her wellbeing. Then, she disappeared into the Diary Room, causing further concern in the house.
Later, current Head Of Household Daniel Durston informed everyone that Paloma had exited the Big Brother house for reasons unknown. Because of this, there were no evictions and the game went on as planned. However, prior to this announcement, the highly popular live feeds were immediately shut off. As for Paloma’s exit, Twitter had some thoughts.
Mental Health is important and everything but that doesn't give Paloma the right to personally attack people then act like the victim. Sorry. Not. Sorry. It's called Guilt. #BB24#bigbrother24

Fans of the show have been sounding off about Taylor’s treatment since last week when everyone in the house found her to be problematic without reason. Last season, for the first time in its history, Big Brother was able to scrounge up enough Black people who decided they would band together to ensure someone Black won the competition for the first time in the show’s 22-year history. Last year’s winner, Xavier Prather, spoke out as a member of BB23’s all-Black alliance, The Cookout, about Taylor’s mistreatment.

Now with Paloma on her way back to Hell, what will happen in the aftermath? I’m hoping “cancellation” because Big Brother has found a recipe to create more drama than any of Andy Cohen’s horrific Housewives shows. And that’s saying a lot.
