Open Post: Hosted By The Yassification Of The Quaker Oats Guy
In case you haven’t heard, yassification is IN. What is yassification? It is the next wave in fashion and style! To be yassified is to be made into the concept of beauty itself. It what is what will subsume us all until we are nothing but highlighter, eyeliner, and thick brows. Or in simpler terms, it’s using the FaceApp beauty filters on famous paintings, people, and other notable objects. Recently, yassification is everywhere online and making everything look “hot.” I mean, I thought the Quaker Oats guy was hot already, but what do I know!
Here are a few yassified pictures in case you’re still confused:

It’s giving face, face, beauty, face! You can thank the YassifyBot for these abominations. The New York Times has a quick explainer on the weird trend:
Since YassifyBot’s account was activated on Nov. 13, it has tweeted hundreds of photographs in which subjects’ lashes appear thick and spidery; their eyebrows look as though they’ve seen the business end of a pencil; their hair has been lengthened and, often, colored; and their cheekbones and nose are sharply contoured.
It should be noted that YassifyBot is not actually a bot. Its tweets aren’t generated by software. The account is run by a 22-year-old college student in Omaha who makes art under the name Denver Adams and asked that The Times not reveal their legal name.
The process for making each image is simple: Take a face, run it through FaceApp until it looks generically or grotesquely sexy, post, repeat. Mr. Adams said in a Zoom interview that each image takes only a few minutes to create.
I FaceApp-ed/yassified myself once and I’m too old to understand why anyone would want to look like this. I don’t need that much contour in my life! And it’s not like a yassified picture looks like an actual person anyway. Case in point:

The Quaker Oats guy looks more realistic than this chick!
