Open Post: Hosted By A Reporter Getting Attacked By A Sprinkler

Canadian field reporter Shelley Steeves was literally reporting from a field, when, out of nowhere, she was brutally attacked! Nope, it wasn’t the usual gropey, wasted sports fan angling for a celebration smooch. It was a high-powered oscillating sprinkler system! Global News released the raw footage on Facebook, with the caption: “A reminder from Global News New Brunswick’s Shelley Steeves that reporters should always be aware of their surroundings.” Ooo, drag her, Global News!

Here’s the video:

Poor Shelley and her charming East Coast accent. All this newshound wanted to do was report on thriving crops and production costs. Instead, she was left soaked and fleeing for her life.

If I were Shelley, I’d be questioning just how loyal my camera operator was. I can understand not noticing the sprinkler was oscillating at first, but if you watch the vid, the water is clearly headed straight for her. Seriously, Shell, from the sassy Facebook caption to the lack of support on the scene… methinks Global News New Brunswick is out to get you!
