Open Post: Hosted By Miley Cyrus’ Modern Mullet
Miley Cyrus can barely take a shit without telling the whole world about its size, weight, and texture. And apparently, the same is true of her hair. Miley’s mom Tish Cyrus gave her a haircut, the end result of which people are calling a “modern mullet”. Tish posted the initial cut on Instagram. Miley herself has actually been laying off the Instagram overshares in recent weeks. Her most recent post (stories not included) was all the way back on November 4th! If Trish hadn’t shown proof of life with that haircut post, I would have worried she was buried in a ditch somewhere, deep enough that she didn’t have a data connection. As it is, Miley’s alive and well and has a new doo. We finally have a reason to give thanks as we gather around the holiday table tomorrow.
Cosmopolitan says that “people on the internet are spiraling over” Miley’s new look. But Cosmopolitan also told me I was a Mason Dash Disick on the Which Kardashian Child Are You? quiz, when it’s obvious I’m a Saint West. So take what they say with a grain of salt. Here’s Tish getting busy with what looks like a pair of safety scissors.
While Tish made the opening salvo, the cut was finished by Miley’s regular stylist Sally Hershberger. Those spiraling over the desecration of Miley’s previously lanky locks, let Sally know the depths of their disapproval.
It’s really…something! But fans were honestly kinda livid and went off on Sally Hershberger—aka Miley’s hairstylist. To quote Instagram user @MileysGem: “This is the worst haircut I’ve ever laid my eyes on u call urself a hairstylist 😢 now this is gonna be all over TMZ and the news plus the locals that don’t like Miley are gonna think she’s going through a meltdown again why can’t we ever win gonna go cry now bye! That was all.” I mean…it’s really not that serious!
But it IS THAT SERIOUS, COSMOPOLITAN! Otherwise, why would we be here? Apparently, Sally agrees with Cosmo and thinks people need to chill.
I might have been impressed if Miley had really gone for it and asked Sally to give her a classic Billy Ray. That would really be something Instagram worthy.
