“RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” Is Getting A Second Season
Considering the UK is a place that has no problem putting Katie Price on television, it should come as no shock that the BBC gods have greenlit a second season for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. If you’ve been watching, the British queens may not be as polished as their counterparts on the other side of the pond, but cut them some slack! They have to deal with Brexit, Boris Johnson, driving on the wrong side of the road, and feuding duchesses. You wouldn’t have time to trim your chest hair or learn a lip synch for your life, either!
Entertainment Weekly says BBC 3 will air the second season sometime in 2020, and the renewal makes total sense. Drag Race has been a huge hit in the U.K. and been watched more than 6.5 million times. That’s about 6.4 million more than who will probably tune in to see Prince Charles take over for THE QUEEN. Oh, royal family. Step up your game! Have Duchess Camilla mouth a number from Victor/Victoria the next time she’s at a ribbon cutting to make people interested in more than whether Duchess Meghan is taking Britain’s greatest product (Prince Harry, duh) across the pond!
Ru herself seems thrilled by the news and farted out a “Yay, I get another check!” statement:
“I want to thank the BBC and all our fans for their overwhelming support of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. This season’s queens proved that Britain’s Got Charisma Uniqueness Nerve and Talent and I want to see more! Here’s to another season of love, laughter and light!”
Have no fear of a Ru-void! You still have the U.S. version, All-Stars, Drag Race Canada, Celebrity Drag Race, Drag Race Pets, and Drag Race Fixer Upper to snatch your wigs in the meantime. No, I didn’t make any of those up.
Here’s Mama Ru announcing her latest check!
