Hasbro Has Put Out A Ms. Monopoly Game Where Women Make More Than Men

I don’t know what Hasbro was thinking. Like, I guess I do know. They were being “inclusive” and “provocative” by creating another new version of Monopoly–but this is one specific version which is going to bring on the hatred. Nothing pisses off meninists of the internet quite like acknowledging that women exist. And if you think you’re going to then give them more than a man, you are asking for all of 8chan to descend on you! Hasbro has introduced Ms. Monopoly, a game that gives women more power than men, and the internet reacted accordingly.

CNN says that Hasbro introduced Ms. Monopoly on their Instagram page:

So this is already causing a lot of controversy and it is a board game–This is why our species is doomed. CNN says that this game flips the rules of the original Monopoly ever so slightly by giving women a power boost. They start off with $240 while men have $200. And they also dare to use the game to educate you on things that women have invented. Basically, sexism is over!

In a statement Hasbro said the game is:

“A fun new take on the game that creates a world where women have an advantage often enjoyed by men… But don’t worry, if men play their cards right, they can make more money too.”

CNN tweeted about this story:

And you can guess the commentary:

But there are some people with common sense:

All the trolls out there thinking this is evidence of hatred of men should know there are Millennial and Socialist versions of Monopoly as well. I think there’s a Legend of Zelda version–so calm down.

But seriously I have one question about this: why does Ms. Monopoly look like that? Mr. Monopoly is stunting in a monocle and black suit and she’s got a green button down and one M earring? Excuse me, what? Get this girl some Chanel!
