Nicki Minaj Isn’t Going To Testify For Her Brother In His Rape Trial

Nicki Minaj’s older brother, 38-year-old Jelani Maraj, was charged with allegedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter in New York state back in 2015. He’s currently on trial. Which at this point feels like a formality, since Satan most likely saw the charge and immediately saved him a cell in Hell.

A few days ago, TMZ made it seem like Nicki subscribed to the “He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother” school of loyalty. She was reportedly going to testify for him, claiming it was nothing but a $25 million shake down orchestrated by his ex-wife. TMZ has gone back on their original report, saying that Nicki won’t be testifying for her brother after all. Jelani’s team suggested during opening arguments last week that Nicki would be there to testify for him. Sources tell TMZ that Nicki plans on having absolutely nothing to do with her brother’s trial and won’t be in the courtroom at all.

There’s wanting to stand by your family, and then there’s your PR team telling you that this isn’t good for business and it’s best to publicly pretend like you don’t support your alleged rapist brother before your money is really affected. My guess is that it’s option number 2 for Nicki. Page Six says the victim’s younger brother testified on Monday and claimed he had accidentally walked in on Jelani with his sister (Jelani allegedly later beat him for it). The victim’s brother also testified that it was a repeat incident that happened many times. The court also has a positive sperm match from a pair of the girl’s pajama pants.

TMZ reached out to Jelani’s attorney about Nicki skipping the trial, and they replied: “I have no idea, we’ll see.” You have no idea? Um, is that attorney aware of what trial TMZ was asking about? Because we’re talking about the one in which Nicki’s brother is accused of repeatedly raping a child. The only thing Jelani should be waiting to see is if Nicki will have her assistant swing by jail with a stale slice of pie in a Glad container after Thanksgiving dinner. And even then, Jelani probably shouldn’t count on it. He’s done nothing to deserve pie.
