Conrad Hilton is in jail after he was arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend Hunter Salomon’s mother’s house and stealing her dad’s Bentley. Yesterday we learned that Conrad and his lawyer Robert Shapiro were about to go to court and ask a judge to release him to a rehab program instead of jail. That didn’t happen, because Con-rude was a no-show.
A source tells the New York Daily News says that Conrad “refused” to leave his jail cell and it caused a delay in his arraignment, which messed with his parent’s plan to send him to a hospital. The source says that if Kathy and Rick Hilton wanted Conrad out of jail, they would have paid his $60,000 bail already. Conrad’s problems may be a mental health issue, and the source says Kathy and Rick are pushing for a doctor to diagnose what the problem is. A judge required him to undergo mental health treatment after a previous incident in which Conrad Hilton acted like Conrad Hilton.
Conrad has also earned new charges for refusing to leave his cell. After he failed to show up for court yesterday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney slapped Conrad with misdemeanor counts of violating a restraining order and contempt of court. That’s on top of a felony auto theft charge that was given yesterday. If he’s convicted, he could face up to four years in jail. In rich asshole time, that’s what, 6 hours?
People magazine says Conrad Hilton is scheduled to appear in court for another arraignment today. If Robert Shapiro wants to make sure his client actually shows up this time, he needs to lure Conrad in with his favorite things. Let’s see, Conrad loves breaking restraining orders and reminding people that he’s rich. Oh, this is easy! Robert should just tell Conrad that the judge took out a restraining order against “some blonde peasant” and he will be at the courthouse in a matter of seconds.
UPDATE: Conrad Hilton actually left his jail cell this afternoon and went to court, and when he got there, he brought a whole lot of his gross attitude with him. Conrad spent most of the hearing giving death-stares and mouthing obscenities. TMZ says that at the beginning of the hearing, Conrad screamed “So fucking gay” at one of their photographers in the courtroom. He was released into his father’s custody on $90,000 bail after agreeing to go to a hospital in Houston, Texas.
