Cesar Milan Responds To Animal Abuse Allegations

March 12, 2016 / Posted by:

Yesterday, Allison, brought us the harrowing tale of how Cesar Millan, dog whisperer, is being investigated by Los Angeles County Animal Control for possible counts of animal cruelty. The animal in question is a lil’ ol’ pig that a dog named Simon bit on an episode of his show, Cesar 911. Simon, le dog avec aggression, apparently lives on a nearby farm and has had issues with le pigs before so Cesar has been rehabilitating him. But, those reality TV hos got him on camera going in for a nibble on a pig ear.

National Geographic WILD, the channel that airs his show already put out a statement, but Cesar responded in his own words, via People:

“The pig and the dog became friends. Nobody is looking at the whole story. They’re looking at a moment that happened, which I understand – it’s a sensitive subject. [The show] is about helping dogs in crisis. To me that’s what the real story is here, some people would like to make it bigger than what it is, they’re taking this story out of proportion. If they watch the episode they can see clearly that the dog and the pig became best friends.”

Animal Control visited his ranch two days ago but he isn’t upset about it. He’s fine with it. OK?!

“I’m not upset about it, I think they’re doing what there supposed to do. At the end of the day they will see that this was taken out of proportion. This is not the first time that people have taken things out of proportion.”

The extent of my knowledge on dog whispering is the South Park episode where Cesar comes to train Cartman, so I’m not an Encyclopedia Britannica when it comes to him, but this does all sound A OK in my book. Simon’s owner thinks this has been blown out of proportion and calls Cesar a “lifesaver.

“My main goal is to educate human kind so we don’t end up euthanizing dogs with the mistakes we make. I’m going to do whatever it takes to save the life of a dog. I don’t use animals as bait. It happened really fast – and the dog only scratched the pig. I’m not saying I’m happy for it. I’m happy that I rehabilitated the dog. I’m happy that I trained the humans and I’m happy that the pig and the dog ended up becoming friends.”

Whether or not that dog and the pig are making friendship bracelets for each other, I can get behind this. There’s so much dark shit going on in the world right now that if a man with a goatee wants to tell me that a dog and a pig are friends, I’ll take it.
