Open Post: Hosted By A Girl Freaking Out Over A Manatee

I know this video is already a couple days old, which in internet time puts it somewhere around the moon landing, but it’s taken me two days to work up the courage to watch it. Note: it is NOT scary. I’m just a wimp who is terrified of creatures-in-water videos, even if those creatures are adorable manatees.

From what the internet tells me, this spring breaker was swimming around filming herself with a selfie stick (don’t worry, I can’t with that either) when a friendly manatee decided to cruise on up and make a friend. Unfortunately, selfie stick girl clearly has the same creature-in-water fear as myself, because she starts freaking the fuck out. The only problem is, manatees are like the golden retrievers of the water – they just want to be pals. So it keeps swimming around selfie stick girl. And she keeps freaking out. It’s the circle of life, really.

I’m sure that manatee just wants to water snuggle, but part of me hopes he was actually trying to yank that selfie stick out her hand.
