This morning, my ass is suffering from bronzer fumes inhalation, breast plate burns to the face and a Vitamin D deficiency due to shade overload, and that could only mean one thing: RuPaul's Drag Race is back! The show that Xtina uses as her own personal make-up tutorial (Note: But no self-respecting queen on Drag Race would let her pussy plasma drip down her leg without throwing some glitter on it first) dropped on our TV screens and brought Elvira, who I can't believe has never been on that shit before, in as a guest judge.
There are a few queens to talk about like Phi Phi O'Hara, who I swear has "bitch" written next to nationality on her passport ("Go back to Party City where you belong!" is my new favorite verbal slap and I don't even know what it means), Latrice Royale and Willam whose face is always telling you that it's 5 o'clock, but none of them compare to Sharon Needles! Sharon Needles was born one night in Pittsburgh when Courtney Love's favorite heroin-shooting vein busted open and squirted all into the gutter as Marilyn Manson jacked off on a Nina Hagen voodoo doll. Bitch is like a Real Housewife of Silent Hill.
Last night's challenge was to queef out a glamour look for the Rupocalypse and Sharon Needles easily wrapped up that competition by crawling out looking like she just snowballed (tar balled?) a Tar Monster on the shores of a swamp.
The season is still young, but so far I'm stretching out my arm to tie a pair of panty hose around it before shooting up some Sharon Needles. TEAM SHARON NEEDLES (If that doesn't get me an "HIV test appointment reminder" postcard from the free clinic, I don't know what will.)

I thought the backstage (Absolut Lounge) video at the site was better than the show actually. Just watched both. The zombie in the hotel part just didn't work for me. Sharon Needles is a fave, PhiPhi and Jiggly I don't like and that Willam "I worked with Sara Jessica Parker" needs to go with his 5:00 shadow (see what you mean).
I've watched every season of drag race, but this season has some nasty, fugly looking queens! I don't know who picked these ladies, but they all look like the rejects from the other seasons. I was waiting for somebody beautiful to come through the doorway on the premiere, but there were NONE!
I want Sharon to win so bad. Which means it won't happen. Here's to hoping she makes it far at least.

I watched the audition video for Sharon Needles a few weeks ago and love her concept. It may not be for everyone and it could limit her success on the show. While I am glad there ia a lack of surgery with these ladies, they do seem second/third tier. Except Latrice. The negativity between them kinda sucks. Overall, it was fun. Willam won't last.
I can't throw shade at anyone* who is doing what they love and it's not hurting anyone. I see some calling drag hate as homophobic. It's not really homophobic on it's own you'll find gay males who hate queens more than pent up conservatives. On the same note you'll also find drag queens that hate transexual to female. Some things just don't click with certain people doesn't make them a homophobe.
* clowns and mj impersonators scare the shit out of me. Clowns make me feel uneasy; like what are they trying to hide? I ran from an mj impersonator at an event. Other celeb impersonators are fine just not MJ.

I had a gay friend who invited a bunch of us to the Portland gay parade, he's very low key and thought they were too over the top. I assured him I had a good time and thought they were a hoot.
Never been to a gay bar though.
In December, during a shopping trip on my bday, I was at a very nice upscale outdoor mall, when I saw the most beautifuly gay; I HAD to stop and admire. He was with a group and dressed very nicely (man clothes) but carrying a red alligator designer bag. I've never wanted a new gay friend more. I wanted him to dress me. He was SO CHIC.

Just had to add: I love RuPaul's Drag Race. The zombie look is hot and I love people who can do scary/sexy right. It's not easy with a bunch of blood coming out of your mouth.
She was amazing, and the name is brilliant. Also very gentle looking out of drag. Anyone think the queens are not um very pretty this year? Something about them is just lower end. Maybe they didn't want as many professionals who already had careers and plastic surgery. That being said, I feel very strange when bad buttons sounds like my type of guy...

I think this (the goth look in general) is creepy. But the drag shows I've been to were a damned BLAST and made me feel like a haggy mcbustedson in comparison.

Agree with ba-buttons, when you read a comment about drag queens being scary and creepy this or that, I also feel it's generalizing negatively about a group of individuals. Had it said just RuPaul's show drag queens, maybe I'd give more leeway to the comment. No, I happen to also know drag queens and cannot categorically agree with that statement. These days you can't close your mind like that, someone will call you out on it, or at least I hope they do.
As for these guys on the show, I like their creative efforts. Some are going for the shock-look but with Sharon, I am curious also to see what the face looks like under all the makeup. :)
