Open Post: Hosted By Pottery Barn’s “Friends” Collection
Last week, it was announced thatĀ Friends is leaving Netflix for HBO Max, and that subsequently created a real-life Friends episode called The One Where A Whole Lot Of People Sign Up For An HBO Max Account. But anyone who doesn’t want to beg a friend for their HBO Max password can still get their Friends fix, thanks to a collaboration with Pottery Barn inspired by Rachel’s love of the brand. That’s pretty much the definition of “We don’t need this,” but at least it’s not a Friends-inspired brand collaboration between Smucker’s jam and ground beef.
People reports that Pottery Barn that on July 30th, they’re launching a collection of Friends themed-items, inspired by the episode The One With The Apothecary Table. In the season 6 episode, Rachel (who loves PB) buys a coffee table from Pottery Barn that she tricks Phoebe (who hates PB) into thinking it came from a flea market. Rachel is eventually found out when she and Phoebe pass by a Pottery Barn store and the display window looks like their living room.

Pottery Barn will be launching the collection two months before the 25th anniversary of Friends. Items will start at $12.50, and will feature furniture and accessories. CNN says there will be 14 items in the collection, and the highest priced item will be $1,099. It’s not known what else will be sold besides that table, the throw pillow that reads “WELCOME FRIENDS‘ (a Friends-themed welcome pillow should really read “Could you be anymore here?“), and Central Perk mugs. I just hope that all furniture pieces come with instructions for moving them into your house. Step One: PIVOT. Step Two: PIIIIIIVAAAAAAAT.
