Hoda Kotb Adopted A Baby
I’ve admitted this several times, but I watch all four hours of Today every weekday, because I am grandma. I may be your grandma, but don’t expect me to mail you a crisp $5 bill for your birthday every year.
Anyway, Hoda Kotb hosts the fourth hour with drunk Christian nightingale Kathie Lee Gifford, but for a little while now, she’s been MIA. When it was reported that Megyn Kelly is joining Today and Tamron Hall is leaving, there was a rumor that NBC is trying to become the next Fox News. So I prepared myself for the moment when the fourth hour would open with Kathie Mess Gifford saying, “Please say goodbye to Hoda Woman and welcome my new co-host…Elisabeth Hasselbeck!” But thankfully, Hoda is taking time off because she’s a new mom.
While she’s been gone, Hoda has been dropping hints on Instagram and this morning, she called in to Today to announce that she’s adopted a fresh-out-of-the-womb baby girl who was born on February 14. As for Hoda’s new daughter’s name, she didn’t name her Kathie Lee Pinot Kotb, unfortunately. Hoda named her baby after the comet that disappointed us all in 1986! Hoda named her Haley Joy after Halley’s Comet.
“It was one of those things. I just picture her sailing through the sky,” she said.
The name also continues an alliteration Hoda shares with her sister, Hala, and a niece, Hannah.
Hoda said the baby’s middle name reflects the emotion she brings.
“She brings us joy. She’s got a beautiful way about her,”
Hoda Kotb is 52 years old, so of course that fact will bring on the, “She too old! She’s gonna be a pile of bone dust when that baby graduates high school!”, comments. But if Hoda drinks as much wine as she says she does, then she’s practically a human barrel of the sweet nectar and will get better with age. You know, I shouldn’t have said that Hoda is a human barrel of the sweet nectar. Because when Hoda goes back to Today, Kathie Lee may ask if she can squeeze some wine out of Hoda’s nipple knob because her glass of morning juice is running low.
