Fuck Whoroween. The costume that got me the most "hits" in my lifetime was the year I dressed up as Hester Prynne. I rented a Pilgrim costume and had a big fancy red A sewn on the chest. My hair was in a bun and I wore one of those little white caps. I was covered from neck to ankles, shoulders to wrists. Guys were hitting on me left and right. The smart ones appreciated the costume's literary and creative aspect. The dumb ones thought I was dressed up as an Amish girl. "Does that A stand for Amish?" A Hispanic man cornered me and I thought I would have to fight him off. He could barely speak English and called me that girl in the Jew outfit. Good times!
