Michael Clarke Duncan Has Passed Away
Well, here's a reason to end your holiday weekend by hugging another bottle of whiskey. As you can tell from the sound of Mr. Jingles weeping, Michael Clarke Duncan passed away this morning at a hospital in Los Angeles. He was only 54 years old.
Back in July, Michael had a heart attack and didn't ever fully recover. Michael was recently hospitalized and his fiancee Omarosa (yes, that Omarosa) was with him this morning. TMZ says that Omarosa lef fort only a second and when she came back to his bed, he had already floated off to heaven.
Michael grew up in Chicago and before he became an actor and was nominated for an Oscar for The Green Mile, he worked for the gas company and later as a bodyguard. He was also in Armageddon, The Whole Nine Yards, Sin City and D.E.B.S. Yes, I just brought up D.E.B.S.
Omarosa released this statement about his passing:
"Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date."

He did come across as a gentle giant, similar to his role in The Green Line. Also, he's one of the few who didn't lose his head over the whole Hollywood fame thing. RIP Michael.

My mom's father waited until she could make it down to Brazil to see him. As soon as she left the hospital, he passed. It's amazing how even in death, our loved ones are looking out for us.

I like to think he is in a better place, that he was done here and moved on. He seemed so nice. I don't understand the omarosa situation. Maybe he brought out the best in her? I've heard many stories like that. MIL's mother had a constant vigil of family with her. The ONE time she was alone for two minutes is when she passed. And my friend's gramma waited for her favorite son to leave. They think she wanted to spare him the sadness.
It makes sense to me. Lots of animals wander away from their groups to die alone. Like dogs who crawl under the porch, or cats who wander off to the woods to do. If I could do that, I would. Don't want anyone watching me die!

How sad. Perhaps he's in a place where there is no more pain or suffering but it doesn't make it any better for those he left behind. I hope they all find peace.
He was so likable and even in the silliest movies he managed to leave a good impression on audiences. He simply had that star quality. I kept rooting for another of his performances to catch the eye of critics and awards organizations.

Omarosa has an interesting bio. Her given name is Omaroseonee. Her dad was Nigerian but was murdered when she was 7. (Her brother also was shot to death last year.) Stallworth was her married name in the '00s. She's an ordained minister and working on her doctorate in divinity.
She met MCD in Whole Foods in 2010. Probably in the $10 applesauce aisle.
