I have a question about Kombucha tea.

Have any of you here made it? Is it safe? I just bought a Kombucha 'baby' off of ebay and I hope I don't make myself sick. I figure you have to sterilize everything as best as possible and use sterile gloves?

I'm a little afraid about tinkering with fungi and bacteria.

Churchill really is awesome the first time. I haven't been in years, but I remember very clearly the first time going through that tunnel to get to the infield for Derby. It probably doesn't hurt that, for me, horse races are freaking exciting.

Lol, no I didn't but I should have! Trust me, I'm waaaaay too poor to be hanging out at the Derby tomorrow! I did, however, get to run through and around the infield of Churchill Downs during my half marathon...it was so great. You go through a tunnel that goes underneath Churchill Downs while going in, if that makes sense...I was about 8 miles in and as I ran through the tunnel into the Downs, the racetrack was above and in front of me, and three jockeys on horses went tearing through. It was a great scene, made the whole day for me.

Hi GG and SDR! Lol at your rolly polly issues...

I am about 80 miles south of the Derby, my half marathon last Saturday was actually the Kentucky Derby Mini Marathon, a traditional part of the derby festivities :)

Found out today that she has three tumors...one is in her lymph node. She begins chemo Monday, surgery to follow. She has same type of breast cancer that took her mother...hubby is staying SO busy. Cleaning pool, running errands (some stupid ass bitch kicked out the back window of his cruiser so he had to get assloads of estimates), cleaning pool again, mowing, then to work...he's just staying busy right now.

And hey Turt!

Kitty muffin - along the same line as SDR was saying, I got out of high school w a full ride to college. Lasted one semester before I was flunking all my classes, and dropped out. But after some time in a dead end job, and growing apart from the then-bf (also a fuck up), I decided without provocation from my parents to go back to school. It took a few yrs to get it out of my system, and I'd be lying if I said I was completely over my one step forward two step back days, But i am in a much better position now, and I don't resent my mom for being a pushy nosy B- cuz she just let me bumble around til I came to my senses

As GG said, sometimes you just gotta let em make their own mistakes
