Sia Is Getting Divorced

Ringing in the new year isn’t going to be very jubilant for wig-faced superstar pop songstress Sia.

TMZ is reporting that the woman who has written pretty much every song you’ve heard on pop radio in the last several years, has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Erik Lang.

The couple, who got engaged in June 2014 and married in August of that year, released a joint statement earlier this month, which indicates that they’re not going the “Brad And Angie’s Hellish Divorce Show” route. Probably because there aren’t any children involved.

“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends.”

They’ve only been married for a couple of years (insert sad emoji wig-face). Sia filed the documents in L.A. citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Eric Lang is a documentary filmmaker and the two collaborated on a not-yet released documentary about Sia, cleverly titled Untiled Sia Documentary Project. He’d better hope they continue “remaining friends.” Documentary filmmaking isn’t exactly equivalent to Marvel Studios-level riches. Song publishing is, though, and I’m guessing Sia’s got a lot of money stashed up in those wigpieces of hers. Hopefully (for him), she’s letting him stay in the carriage house of whatever mansion she keeps her face wigs at. Every mansion has a carriage house on the grounds. Just ask any of the remaining soap operas still airing.
