Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani Are In Love: Part 648

We talk about a lot of stunt queens here and nothing warms the heart like queens of love stunting. There’s just something about two people selling us their love that turns our black hearts blacker. Please, go on and on about just how in love you are as we sit back with our cats, dogs, whatevers and a glass (read box) of wine and smile and side eye. The love hawkers dujour are Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Continuing on their door to door sales trip, they’ve now done a duet and Blake had some gushy stuff to say about it.

Talking to Entertainment Tonight, via InTouch, Blake said:

[The song] is very personal for us both because, you know, we obviously have this bond that is remarkable together. But the fact that we wrote a song together — I know that I don’t co-write that much because I’m very insecure about it I guess and [Gwen’s] kind of got her circle of people that she writes with. But for us to reach out to each other as writers, it may never happen again, who knows. The last year and a half of my life has literally blown up in my face. And that’s okay because I’m a country singer, and I at least get to take all of that and put it into music. It’s not like there’s all these juicy details, but it definitely just lends itself to the emotions and things that you go through when you go through a divorce.

There’s worse things to sell than love, see any of the Kardashian products, so I can’t be too mad at this. But I can still question it because that is my right as an American. Just ask Laura Jeanne Poon. These two have been laying it on THICK for a while now and this is just another layer in their love lasagna that they’re serving us in portion sizes an Italian grandma would approve of aka extra large. Gwen Stefani talked about coming back from the dead through the power of love and The Voice so this duet isn’t all that surprising.

The song is off his upcoming album, If I’m Honest, so of course there’s some Gwen in there. And if I’m honest, Blake, this is some grade A marketing and sales strategy. They’ve been selling us their love so hard that even if it is true and they’re having their 50th anniversary extravaganza, I’m still gonna sit here and think, “wow, these guys are really fucking committed to this act.”
