Gary Oldman Slept In A Coffin During The Filming Of “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”

November 29, 2021 / Posted by:

There’s no end to the stories about serious actors getting as serious as possible for a role, and living out that character through the process known as method acting. And usually when an actor throws themself into the method process, they’re basing their performance on a real person or a real experience that they can measure their choices against. Well, all of those method actors are amateurs compared to Gary Oldman. Gary Starred in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula, as the titular Dracula. And you might be wondering how the hell someone method acts as a totally-fictional character creature with zero basis in reality. Because really, who is going to check you for accuracy? Vampires aren’t real! But Gary found a way. Specifically, he went as method as a human can go when playing a vampire, and he slept in a coffin every night.

Ridley Scott Thought It Was Fantastic That Lady Gaga And Jared Leto Stayed In Character For The Entire Filming Of “House Of Gucci”

November 24, 2021 / Posted by:

By now, we’ve all heard the tales of Lady Gaga’s 18-month long method acting exercise to prepare for and play the role of Best Actress Oscar Winner Lady Gaga the character of Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci. Gaga says she stayed in character before and during filming, at all times, no matter what, in order to fully become the character of Patrizia. Her House of Gucci co-star Jared Leto is no stranger to the concept of method acting, as he too has been known to be the type of actor who falls into a role and refuses to drop character until the DVD commentary. If that sounds super annoying to you, then go ahead and pull up a chair next to Martin Freeman and have a nice chat about that. But when it comes to House of Gucci director Ridley Scott, he thought all that method acting was charming.

Benedict Cumberbatch Went Too Method On His Latest Movie And Got Nicotine Poisoning Three Times

November 11, 2021 / Posted by:

I always thought that Benedict Cumberbatch had an Oscar, but silly me – of course, he doesn’t! Otherwise, he wouldn’t be working so hard for one. Benedict stars in the upcoming film The Power of the Dog, a movie made by Netflix and directed by Jane Campion. Even the trailer screams that this is going to be nominated for everything come January.  But especially Benedict, who transforms into a rough, grumpy early 20th Century rancher, complete with a skinny hand-rolled smoke pinched between his fingers in almost every scene. Benedict recently spoke about his role in the film, and surprise surprise, he stayed in character the whole time for the entire duration of the shoot. And all that method-actor-smoking resulted in nicotine poisoning three times.

Vincent Kartheiser Was Investigated Over Misconduct Allegations On The Set Of HBO Max’s “Titans”

August 14, 2021 / Posted by:

The name Vincent Kartheiser, who played Pete Campbell in Mad Men, was in many headlines yesterday, and surprisingly it wasn’t because he let us know that like those other celebrity Pig Pens, a bar of soap barely ever touches his skin. I don’t think Vincent has to tell us that, though. Vincent’s name made the rounds because Deadline reported that he was the subject of multiple misconduct investigations after he allegedly behaved like a throbbing asshole on the Toronto set of HBO Max’s Titans. One of those investigations led to the studio assigning a “representative” to look after him while he was on set. So they pretty much needed to get Vincent a babysitter thanks to him being a real-life Pete Campbell. Can you imagine the conversation the “representative” had with their loved one before leaving for the first day of their new job? “Bye, honey, I’m off to my new babysitting gig.“Awww, that’s cute, how old is the child?”It’s Pete Campbell.” “May GOD be with you.

Martin Freeman Says Method Acting Is A Pretentious Pain In The Ass

June 8, 2021 / Posted by:

Martin Freeman recently went on a podcast and shit on Hollywood method acting, calling it “pretentious” and “highly amateurish.” He says British actors don’t pull that crap (all eyes on Daniel Day-Lewis and Christian Bale), they just “get on with it and get it done.” Martin singled out Jim Carrey’s performance in the Andy Kaufman biopic Man on the Moon (1999), which was captured in Netflix’s 2017 documentary Jim and Andy: The Great Beyond. Now, I haven’t seen that movie cuz I love my TV and don’t wanna have to throw shit at it, but apparently Jim “became” Andy Kaufman, began to lose his sense of self, and pissed off the film’s cast and crew. Hey, at least he didn’t send anybody rats, bullets, or dead hogs!
