Bruce Springsteen Pled Guilty To Public Drinking And His DWI Charge Was Dropped
Back in November, Bruce Springsteen was arrested in a park just minutes from his home in Colts Neck, New Jersey, and charged with DWI, reckless driving, and consuming alcohol in a closed area. Apparently, 71-year-old Bruce was driving his motorcycle around a national park, stopped to take photos with fans, and did two shots of tequila with them. Even though his blood-alcohol level was just 0.02 (super legal), the arresting officers said he was glassy-eyed and swaying. Great concert behavior, bad driving behavior.
At his virtual arraignment this morning, Bruce pled guilty to drinking alcohol in a restricted area, admitting, “I had two small shots of tequila.” But the DWI and reckless driving charges were dropped after prosecutors said they didn’t think they could “sustain their burden of proof.” Meaning they couldn’t Prove (It All Night) that the Boss was drunk driving. Newly released details of Bruce Springsteen‘s DWI arrest last November have many of his fans giving the New Jersey police the old hairy eyeball. TMZ reports that sources say that at the time of his arrest, Bruce’s blood alcohol level “was only .02, well below the legal limit.” However, the recipient of said hairy eyeballs, the cop who arrested him, says that Bruce’s glassy eyeballs were to blame for his arrest.
