The 2023 Golden Globe Nominations Are Out

The 80th Golden Globes will air on NBC on January 10, 2023, and there’s a chance that host Jerrod Carmichael will be telling jokes to nothing but a room filled with drunken tumbleweeds, plastered crickets, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Because pretty much no celebrities made an appearance during last year’s pathetic and unaired Golden Globes disaster. And Brendan Fraser, who is unsurprisingly nominated for The Whale, has already made it clear that you won’t be seeing him deliver a sequel to his legendary Golden Globes viral clap of 2010 (and no, not the kind of viral clap that requires antiobtics) during 2023’s ceremony. Brendan has already said that he won’t be at the Golden Globes because he’s boycotting the ceremony over how the Hollywood Foreign Press Association handled his allegation that a former member sexually assaulted him. Well, the shit show must go on, I guess, and this morning, the nominations were announced. The TV nominations are pretty standard to me, but the movie nominations are all over the place. I mean, Ana de Armas got a Best Actress nomination for Blonde. This means that Ana and Blonde director Andrew Dominik will probably spew out more gross fuckery about Marilyn Monroe to the media. Poor Marilyn, back to rolling in her grave she goes!
