Bandhu, the piano-playing rhino!
Bandhu is a one-horned rhino who lives at the Denver Zoo and turned 12 years old on May 18. Usually, when it’s somebody’s birthday, they get serenaded with a song, but Bandhu is obviously a giving soul because, on his birthday, he bestowed his talent upon his fans by playing everyone a gorgeous original tune. And yes, it’s #1 on iTunes (don’t fact-check me on that!).
During Bandhu’s birthday celebrations, his caretakers brought out a keyboard and held it up for him as he used his prehensile lip (The Prehensile Lips would be a great name for Bandhu’s man) to tickle out a stream of stunning musical notes. But don’t worry, Bandhu got paid for his performance. The Denver Zoo said in a statement that he gets a treat every time he turns the place into Carnegie Hill. via People:
The Denver Zoo shared in a statement that Bandhu, which means “friend” in Sanskrit, “is rewarded for participating in this type of enrichment.”
“We’re just trying to get him to use that prehensile lip and enjoy some tactile and auditory sensations that he doesn’t get every day,” the facility added.

Well, there goes the neighborhood, because now that the world knows that Bandhu is the greatest pianist living (and bitch didn’t even go to Juilliard!), the Denver Zoo will be filled with symphony lovers in tuxedos and gowns who have traveled from all around the planet to take in his musical greatness. Can’t wait to see a classical music-loving Upper East Side socialite in a gown get dragged out of the Zoo after she can’t help herself and jumps into Bandhu’s enclosure to bow down to him.
