Prior To Her Health Scare, Madonna Was Putting In 12 Hour Days In Preparation For Her World Tour

After discovering today is our last hurrah Madonna became so overcome with emotion she had to recover inside a four-star suite called a hospital room. Thankfully, the Pride Gods stepped in, and she’s currently back at home and is expected to fully recover. Although her highly anticipated Celebration world tour is now postponed. Madge apparently was pushing herself to the limit in an attempt to rival both Beyoncé and Taylor Swift’s successful tours. However, hers would have made theirs look like cheap community theater productions of Burlesque. And this scary medical moment forced her and her family to realize it’s time for her to take better care of herself because nobody is ready for her to take a bow from life just yet.
Page Six reports that 64-year-old Madge was in full tour mode, preparing for her opening date in Vancouver on July 15. And since we all know Madge can be a little extra at times, I can only imagine the lengths she was going to behind the scenes to make sure she outshined anyone half her age during this long-awaited tour. But in this case, Madge pushed herself a little too hard, a fact that did not go unnoticed by her production team.
Madonna was “strenuously rehearsing” for her upcoming Celebration Tour at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum for weeks before she was found unresponsive and hospitalized, a source close to the production tells Page Six exclusively.
“She had been putting in 12-hour days,” the insider shares. “She was strenuously rehearsing and putting in the work.”
Now that Madge is recovering, we can all exhale because this news hit a little too close to home after losing Tina Turner last month. And just like Tina, Madge is a much-beloved icon of music who dedicates her life and professionalism to her fans. But her family, who have been by her side during this entire ordeal, say that her hospitalization was the wake-up call she needed to take care of herself finally. And nobody is allowed to discuss work around her, or else she’ll try to pop out of bed and perform her routine from Hung Up to prove she can still get down as she did in her 40s. The Daily Mail reports;
‘She has not been living as healthy a life as she should be for her age, and she has been wearing herself thin over the past couple of months.
‘She thinks that she is still young when, in fact, she is not. She also believes that she is invincible.’
Sources close to the singer said she has been working around the clock to ensure that her tour is perfect, with one revealing that she has been rehearsing six days a week.
Another told DailyMail.com in April that she was ‘driving everyone up the wall with her perfectionism’.
At the time the source said that Madonna was ‘in incredible shape’.
On Wednesday the family source said that discussion of her tour is banned from her bedside, because the famously hard-working singer needed to rest.
‘Everything, including this tour, is taking a backseat right now and no one is allowed to even mention anything work related around her because she will lose her s***,’ the relative added.
‘She will put her career and her fame before her health until the day she is dead.’
Get better soon, Madge, and don’t worry about the tour. Because after this near-death experience, when you’re well enough to go out again, you can charge triple what you would have before (and people will pay it).
