Colleen “Miranda Sings” Ballinger Responded To The Grooming Allegations With A 10-Minute Long Ukulele Performance

If you don’t know Colleen Ballinger, you may recognize her poorly-lipsticked Internet personality, Miranda Sings. If not, bless you; you spend more time in real life than online and you should be awarded for that. Three-ish years ago, a report came out about how another YouTuber, Adam McIntyre, accused Colleen of forming “an inappropriate personal friendship” with the then 13-year-old, which continued until they were 16 and included sending lingerie to the teen “as a joke,” and Adam basically working as her social media intern. Colleen sort of addressed it then, saying she was sorry for letting a child be her free ghost-Tweeter, but now she’s made a whole video about it, and it includes a ukelele so… she’s not beating those allegations, as they say.

Variety says this video was posted yesterday to Colleen’s other channel, Colleen Vlogs, where she says she made “jokes in poor taste” and “dumb mistakes” but swore that it was not her “intention to manipulate” saying: “For what it’s worth, I never had any bad intentions… But I do feel like shit.” But she basically calls the drama an online pile-on and dismisses the allegations as “gossip.” All while playing the ukelele for TEN MINUTES. Bitch…

“Some people are saying things about me that just aren’t true… Even though my team has strongly advised me not to say what I’m going to say, I realized they never said I couldn’t sing about what I want to say… I used to message my fans — but not in a creepy way, like a lot of you are trying to suggest. It was more of a loser kind of way. I was just trying to be besties with everybody.”

Ballinger admitted that “there were times in DMs when I would overshare” but said she “changed my behavior and took accountability.”

“…Thought you wanted me to take accountability / but that’s not the point of your mob mentality / your goal is to ruin the life of the person you despise / while you dramatize your lies and monetize their demise.”

In a recurring chorus in the video, she referred to the allegations about her as “the toxic gossip train.”

At another point, she sang, “I’m sure you’re disappointed in my shitty little song / I know you wanted me to say that I was 100% in the wrong / well I’m sorry I’m not gonna take that route / of admitting to lies and rumors that you made up for clout.”

“The only thing I’ve ever groomed is my two Persian cats / I’m not a groomer, just a loser / who didn’t understand I shouldn’t respond to fans / and I’m not a predator even a lot of you think so / because five years ago I made a fart joke.”

She should have listened to her team, who told her not to say anything. Here’s the video; I couldn’t watch it all because I felt my spine trying to leave my body, so I had to turn it off:

Adam responded to the video saying that Colleen basically played herself and this is the “REAL” Colleen:

The internet was reacting with similar disgust and shock:

You know, I have to hand it to Colleen for this. I mean, at the very tail end of Pride Month, when trans and drag communities are facing insane amounts of groomer allegations, she obviously must have decided to take the heat off of them, and so she decided to make this horrible video! A true ally!
