Tom Hanks’ Niece Had An On-Camera Meltdown On The Reality Show “Claim To Fame”

Move over, Chet Hanks! There’s a new humiliating relative of Tom Hanks in town! The Oscar winner’s niece, Carly Reeves, had a full-blown on-camera meltdown on the ABC reality show Claim To Fame, bellowing in nepo baby agony after being booted off the show on the season 2 premiere, screaming, “I should have more camera time!” and went on a frenzied tirade so chaotic it made Chet look well-adjusted.

Claim To Fame, hosted by Jo Bros, Kevin Jonas, and Frankie Jonas, puts a spotlight on people who live in the shadows of their celebrity relatives, where they live under one roof while eliminating each other by figuring out which star their opponents are related to. Carly was the first contestant whose fame adjacent co-stars figured out who her nepo guardian was after putting together the hints from the “clue wall,” which featured a green bench symbolic of Tom Hank’s movie Forest Gump. When her co-star Hugo traced the clue back to Carly, nepo baby hell broke loose as she started going off, “I was not expecting this at all. I helped you, Hugo, I frickin’ helped you!” According to TooFab:

She then walked inside the home to pack up her things, letting out a bloodcurdling scream everyone else could clearly hear outside. She then started going off, slamming the show for giving the contestants what she saw as too obvious a clue about her identity.

“These frickin’ clues are so frickin’ obvious. Frickin’ bench?! It’s the frickin’ poster of frickin’ Forrest Gump, are you kidding me?” she shouted. “Why a bench? Why a bench?! There’s literally no benches in any other movie. Even Gabriel found that out, he’s not even smart.”

“I didn’t even get to do any challenges! I don’t deserve this,” she continued, as the other contestants reacted with shocked faces outside. “I should have more camera time, I should be here longer! No one expected that, no one!”

Here’s the video of the meltdown:

Since the release of this episode, Carly was asked by USA Today if she regrets how she reacted to her elimination, and like a seasoned child of nepotism, she said she didn’t and that it’s “just how I am.” Here’s her full response: “No. Honestly, I’m an emotional person, so I’m obviously going to react in a big way because that’s just how I am. And because this was so special to me, and it was so exciting for me, I was upset. Could I have handled myself better and been a little bit more graceful with it? Yes. But as far as being upset and sad, that was all real. So, I can’t regret it.”

Take notes, Hulu! This is the kind of shameless reality show drama audiences are missing out on while we’re being forced to watch the Kardashians shake salads season after season- Sorry, Kris Jenner, but it’s time to give the famous family reality show slot to the Hanks!
