Kevin Costner’s Estranged Wife Lists Their Lavish Ass Spending Habits In Court Documents

After getting hit with a surprise divorce papers in early May, Kevin Costner is going through the traditional messy drama ritual that every celebrity must go through when splitting with their partner. First, there’s speculation that his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, is leaving because Kevin is a serial cheater. Then Christine decided she’s not leaving their house despite whatever a silly prenup says. Then some vague news surfaced that Kevin’s ex-tenant, Daniel Starr, was kicked out because of some fight between the Yellowstone star and David that involved Christine. Now Christine is airing out all the details behind how Kevin spends his paychecks, presumably to receive better spousal support. She’s after that Waterworld money!

The couple signed a prenup 19 years ago, but Christine is having none of it. To fight the “limited” spousal support she is set to receive, she outlined in court how much exactly Kevin is raking in and what he’s spending it on. Spoiler alert: dude has a ton of expensive houses. According to Page Six:

Costner, 68, earned a total of $19,517,064.32 before taxes due to income he accrued from TV and film projects, rentals and social security, per the documents.

The “Bodyguard” star and his family, however, spent $11,921,543.89 in expenses last year. The longtime actor’s net income in 2022 was just over $7.5 million.

A large portion of Costner’s lavish spending went to his three homes, including a property in Santa Barbara, Calif., noted as “Padaro Lane” in the records, a house in Aspen, Colo., and a third titled “Beach House.”

I like that in addition to the insane amount of money he probably makes from residuals from the smash hit The Postman; he’s also getting that government check. The measly $2K monthly from social security is probably enough to cover a whole day of grocery shopping! The court filing details that Kevin spends much of his fortune maintaining his many homes.

Each property required a long list of expenses — presumably due to maintaining their upkeep.

The home in Carpinteria, Calif., in Santa Barbara County required more than $70,000 in gardeners’ fees, more than $20,000 in repairs and maintenance and nearly $200,00 in property taxes, among other costs.

The total money spent on his Aspen, Colo., home in 2022 was nearly $2 million, and consisted of a $91,999 salary for his ranch manager, $170,533 for other employees, $34,732 in gardener’s fees, $21,807 for spa services, nearly $20,000 in cleaning services and more.

The “Beach House” was the least expensive, costing Costner $1,178,147 in expenses for 2022.

At least the beach house is a modest spend! Costner also reportedly spent almost $500,000 on beach club dues, $12,851 on a personal trainer, and $830,000 on gifts. He also got hit with thousands in credit card fees, showing that everyone is terrible at paying those things on time. To head off Christine coming after the Yellowstone fortune, Kevin allegedly tried to pay her off.

Baumgartner argued in the new court documents that Costner allegedly tried to deposit $1 million into her bank account to allegedly “force” her into conceding to the terms of her “limited” spousal support in their premarital agreement.

“I cannot make this concession, do not accept payment, and instructed our financial accountant Francis Shelley to return the funds to Kevin,” she added.

From the looks of things, this divorce is going to drag out. I’d probably ask for more if I spent 19 years with Kevin Costner. That alone is at least worth TWO beach houses!
