Andy Cohen Shot Down The Rumor That Meghan Markle Didn’t Conduct Her Own “Archetypes” Interviews, And Some Of Prince Harry’s Unsuccessful Podcast Pitches Were Revealed

Though it seems like public favor has been waning lately for “fucking griftersPrince Harry and Meghan Markle, Andy Cohen recently threw Meghan a bone by confirming that he did, in fact, get interviewed by Meghan herself when he was on her now-defunct podcast Archetypes last year, after rumors recently began swirling that she didn’t conduct her own interviews during the show’s short run. A former staffer from the company that produced Archetypes claimed that producers did the interviews, except for the main ones, and Meghan was edited in later. And it’s probably a good thing that The Sussexes and Spotify parted ways while their deal was still active. Because Prince Harry allegedly pitched a podcast where he’d interview Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin about their childhood trauma. What could go wrong?

Andy sat down with Us Weekly and talked about his experience guesting on Archetypes last November, where he and Meghan discussed The Real Housewives and her getting turned down as a Watch What Happens Live guest before she became a royal. According to Andy, he chatted with Meghan, and she seemed on top of things.

“Of course, I [spoke with Meghan], And she definitely [interviewed me]. That’s an insane rumor,” the Bravo executive, 55, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 21, while promoting his partnership with Fresca. “Her podcast is conversations with people. How would she not have, of course she did.”

…The Suits alum was “quite well-researched,” “well-informed” and “thoughtful” during their 2022 conversation. In their sit-down, the pair discussed how Meghan was interested in appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in the early 2010s as she was a big Real Housewives fan at the time. However, Bravo ultimately passed on having her as a guest on the show — a move Cohen called the “biggest blunder in the 13 years of the show.”

But Andy said he was disappointed when he later found out that Meghan low-key dogged Housewives:

In his Daddy Diaries book, released earlier this year, Cohen admitted he was surprised when he listened to his “Archetypes” episode and Meghan expressed that she now has mixed feelings about the Real Housewives franchise — a comment she didn’t make to his face. When asked about the dig, Cohen told Us he’d “love” for Meghan to come on WWHL to continue the conversation.

Here’s Andy setting the record straight:

And in more tidbits of the flaming wreckage of this failed podcast pursuit, The Independent reported that Harry had the audacity to pitch a podcast where he’d interview Diaper Don and Vladi Poots about their childhoods. Which I guess makes some sense since Harry has cornered the market on mommy issues.

The Duke of Sussex reportedly pitched a podcast to Spotify that would have seen him interviewing figures such as Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump about their “childhood trauma”.

According to Bloomberg’s Soundbite newsletter, penned by journalist Ashley Carman, Harry came up with the concept of interviewing “controversial guests”, including Putin, Trump and Mark Zuckerberg “about their early formative years and how those experiences resulted in the adults they are today”.

But wait, there’s more: he name-dropped the pope too.

Another idea that the duke floated was a show about fatherhood, which he hoped to interview Pope Francis – who does not have any children – for.

The level of delulu here is too damn high, which could be why Netflix is also rumored to want to eventually distance themselves, too. But, I would be interested to hear what creams some of the world’s most infamous heads of state’s moms used, which they’d then, in turn, smear on their own maladjusted todgers–you know, for nostalgia’s sake.
