Monique And Chris Samuels, Formerly Of “The Real Housewives Of Potomac” Are Getting A Divorce
I would say that yet another Real Housewives couple divorcing this year after we’ve already heard about the messy mess divorces of Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman (currently of The Real Housewives of Atlanta) and Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann (formerly of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Don’t Be Tardy) would make 2023 a record year for Bravo breakups, but if you crunch the numbers, we’re actually right on track for the end of Q2! Now, Monique Samuels, who was on The Real Housewives of Potomac from 2017-2020, just filed for divorce from her ex-NFL husband, Chris Samuels, after airing their grievances on OWN’s Love & Marriage D.C. last year, and then denying for months after that they were calling it quits.
Color me shocked that the relationship between Monique–a woman who got kicked off of RHoP for giving another member of the cast a hair-pulling beatdown, and Chris–an overgrown mama’s boy whose mama absolutely hated Monique’s guts–didn’t work out. People says Monique originally filed for a sealed divorce a few months ago but just amended the filing last week.
The Montgomery County Family Court confirmed to PEOPLE on Tuesday that The Real Housewives of Potomac alum, 39, has officially filed for divorce from the former NFL player, 45. Though Monique has filed a petition to seal the documents, the docket shows that she filed a complaint for absolute divorce on April 14. She then filed an amended complaint for absolute divorce on June 15.
The former couple’s divorce has yet to be finalized. However, Monique and Chris have a scheduled hearing for Wednesday.
The couple hasn’t commented on the recent filing, but it was reported back in October that they were splitting.
PEOPLE confirmed in October 2022 that Monique and Chris had called it quits after 10 years of marriage. The former couple — who wed in 2012 — share three children: sons Christopher and Chase, plus daughter Milani.
Though at that time, Monique and Chris laughed off and denied the reports of their separation despite all of the dirty marriage laundry they aired on Love & Marriage D.C.:
