Russell Simmons Responds After Ex-Wife Kimora Lee Simmons And Their Daughters Call Him Out On Father’s Day
If hip hop pioneer Russell Simmons tries to drink out of his Best Dad Ever mug, his ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons kicks in his door wearing nine-inch stilettos and slaps the mug out of his hand, screaming, “That’s not for you!” Because over the weekend, Russell, who shares daughters Aoki and Ming with Kimora, went on a bit of a tirade with Aoki that made Kimora have to step in. Now, realizing he has eyes on himself at all times, he’s returned with his Sorry Shimmy and tear-stained fatherly rendition of “I Need Love” as he apologizes for making Ming, Aoki, and Kimora’s lives a living hell.
65-year-old Russell and 48-year-old Kimora’s eldest daughter, 23-year-old Ming, took to Instagram with a beautiful Father’s Day message of love and support….for her mother! GASP! This isn’t something new because children of deadbeat dad’s everywhere always shout their mother’s out on Father’s Day since, in the words of Austin Powers, Daddy wasn’t there. But then, 20-year-old Aoki attempted to reach out to Russell with her own kind words, but that did not go over well.

Entertainment Tonight reports Aoki took to the bulletin board of life, Instagram, to announce her relationship with her father has been trash for years. Aoki went on to say how she’s tired of how her father treats her, and she questions his mental health.
Their youngest daughter, Aoki, also took to Instagram Live to explain how despite defending her father in the past, “this man is awful to me. He has done awful things to me and I’m so tired of it,” she said in tears.
She went on to say that she’s been scared to speak up in the past because her father is so beloved in the entertainment industry.
Aoki wrote, “My father is not well, for years, he needs help and won’t accept that he refuses to acknowledge he is not himself. He has threatened and bullied my sister, my grandma, he has harassed my grandma in the middle of the night in poor health, send a man to my sisters apartment at 2am to scare her. He lashes out at ANYONE who does not say ‘oh Russell everything is fine.’ Well it’s not fine. If ‘I never get a fashion job again’ like he threatens, I’ll be a lawyer I guess and work in criminal Justice. Sure I love my job but if he takes it away from me I won’t die. You don’t threaten my sister and grandma and mother and say “who’s gonna believe you I’m Russell Simmons nobody thinks I’m crazy” well he is.”
Here’s the video of Russell looking like a pepaw shouting to make his phone turn on while his daughter watches, thinking, “The fuck’s wrong with this guy?”
Idk what’s going on with Kimora Lee, Ming Lee, Aoki Lee & Russell Simmons but YIKES. She muted the video clip but I could make out him saying “I’M BROKE. SHE STOLE EVERYTHING.” 😳 pic.twitter.com/lNjxb9tERb

After Aoki drop-kicked Russell in the ego with her receipts, Kimora quickly tagged in with a scalding hot pot of truth tea. Complex reports Kimora has her own story to tell, and the basic gist is Russell has been harassing her and the kids for many years.
Kimora wound up on IG Live, where she tearfully alleged harassment and verbal abuse at the hands of Simmons at length. “Don’t attack my kids, don’t have anything to say about what’s goes on in this house,” she said at one point. “Because if you want to, we can all do that. Like I said, I like receipts. I have receipts. I’ve been collecting them, I’ve been baking a cake. So if you want it, just let me know.”
Kimora also asked Russell Simmons—who has faced myriad accusations of rape, sexual harassment, and/or assault by at least 18 women—to “please leave us alone, I beg.”
And finally, sensing damage control was needed, Russell informed his family, and the world, that he’s sorry, but the real issue here is THEM! Because basically, Russell found a way to make his family’s issue with him THEIR issue while trying to remind us he has books to sell.
Later Monday evening, Russell Simmons returned to tell his daughters to “let go” and “be at ease,” briefly apologizing “for being frustrated and yelling.”
“God is testing you a little bit,” he wrote. “It’s ok, be strong…they are called growing pains…as you know, we grow through adversity and struggle…you read my books and heard me preach your whole childhood…reach back and to remember ‘smile and breathe’ …so let go…be at ease…God is driving and he is working on you ❤️ DEEPLY sorry for being frustrated and yelling…but know this…there are no conditions…for sure i love you guys more than i love myself.”
Russell, please don’t offend our intelligence with this non-apology ass apology. Instead of trying to make us believe your family’s intact, why not call your daughters, tell them daddy needs a Snickers because he’s not himself when he’s hungry, and leave us all out of it.
