Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He Would Win If He Ran For President

The presidential election is THEE reality show of America. But instead of winning a prize of 100,000 USD and the title of next drag superstar, you get a shiny nuclear button that has the capacity to devastate millions of lives. Also, the secret service gives you a cool new nickname. That’s the beauty of these United States! Any Joe Schmo can lead the free world if they’re popular enough. Well, almost anyone. The right to rule America is only reserved for citizens born in the US. And apparently, this is the only criterion stopping Arnold Schwarzenegger from becoming number 47.

Arnold spoke with Chris Wallace for Max’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” They obviously got into the presidential goings-on. With many competitors throwing their hats into the ring for the 2024 election, Wallace asked the former California governor/kindergarten cop if he would ever consider a run. via Variety:

“The Constitution says that the President has to be a natural born US citizen. If not for that, would you have run for president?” Wallace asked Schwarzenegger.

“Well, yes, of course,” Schwarzenegger responded. “I mean, I think the field was wide open in 2016. And I think the field is open right now. I mean, think about it right now. I mean, who is there? There is really not a person that can bring everyone together. Who is here today that people say okay, he’s not too old or he’s not too this or too that, or is that because it’s now a question about who do you vote against then who do you vote for?”

You heard it here. Much like Arnold brought together a paramilitary team to fight the Predator, he will bring together the country to fight divisions that have fractured this country! Although Wallace himself brought up the fact that Arnold, the Austrian-born naturalized US citizen, cannot run, he asked:

“You’re saying you would run for president in 2024?”

As Arnie is universally loved (well, probably not by Maria Shriver or George Takei), he’s pretty convinced that his particular brand of political celebrity will get Americans pumped up at the voting booth.

“Absolutely,” Schwarzenegger answered. “Put me in because it’s, look – it’s a no brainer. I see so clearly how I could win that that election.”

I suppose most of Arnie’s skeletons are out of the closet and weight training, so he might not have anything more to hide, which is usually the downfall of most presidential hopefuls. For God’s sake, he cheated on a Kennedy and survived the PR disaster! Unfortunately for Arnie fans, the only way they’ll see him behind the presidential podium is if we change the Constitution or he takes on Morgan Freeman’s role as Commander-in-Chief in Deep Impact 2: Going Deeper. For now, we’ll all have to settle for his multiple Netflix series. Hopefully, one of his shows will finally address the biggest scandal in his career: keeping Miriam Margolyes as his fart hostage!
