Bam Margera Has Been Placed On A 5150 Hold

Today in “Sad but Inevitable“, TMZ reports that Bam Margera has been placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold in L.A. The news comes a few days after 43-year-old Bam went on an Instagram rant where he blamed his troubles on his family and estranged wife Nikki Boyd. Yesterday, Bam’s brother, Jess Margera, took to Twitter to ask if anyone had any info about Bam’s whereabouts. Apparently, early that morning, Bam had texted his family, telling them he was “at peace” and had taken “enough pills to stop his heart.” Later that day, law enforcement located Bam by tracking his phone, and a psych eval team determined he needed to be 5150-ed.
Here are Jess’ very sad tweets from yesterday:
If anyone in the LA area knows of bams current whereabouts or a hotel he might be at please call the LAPD immediately. I am trying to get them to ping his phone but as usual it’s a whole huge process and I don’t think we have that kind of time. If you guys could all retweet this…

They found him safe 🙏 he texted me and my parents at 6 am this morning saying he loves us he loves Phoenix and he is “at peace” and that he took enough pills to stop his heart. And some really heartbreaking dark shit. Thanks to everyone who shared info today.

Cops found Bam at Danny Trejo’s taco joint, Trejo’s Tacos. Based on his “erratic speech and behavior” and the suicidal threats, they called in a psychiatric evaluation team, who 5150-ed him. TMZ says Bam was taken to a mental health facility, where, by law, he can be held for 72 hours.
In his Instagram rant from last week, Bam threatened to smoke crack until he dies if he doesn’t get to see his 5-year-old son, Phoenix (um… I dunno if that’s gonna look so great in their custody battle). But then, on Friday, a day after the rant, Jess tweeted that he heard Bam may be willing to go to treatment (again):
Ok I officially retract all my recent shit talk and tough love, rumor has it bam finally said enough is enough and agreed to go to treatment, if that is the case I am extremely proud of him. I knew he wouldn’t puss out and throw in the towel, it’s just not who he is. Let’s all…

Obviously, things didn’t pan out as Bam’s family had hoped. But at least he’s safe for the time being. Well, maybe. Even though authorities can technically keep him under their control for 72 hours, TMZ isn’t sure if Bam is still at the mental health facility. I guess we’ll have to stay tuned to Bam’s Instagram to see if he posts any more disturbing videos. Fingers crossed for radio silence!
