Pedro Pascal Got An Eye Infection After Letting Fans Recreate His “Game Of Thrones” Death For Pictures

The Hollywood Reporter did a Drama Actors Roundtable featuring a roster of current TV stars including Pedro Pascal, Jeff Bridges, Kieran Culkin, Damson Idris, Michael Imperioli, and Evan Peters. During that roundtable, Reluctant Internet Daddy Hall of Famer Pedro Pascal revealed that before he got BIG big, he used to let fans poke him in the eye for pictures. Fans wanted to do that since Pedro’s Game of Thrones character died after getting his eyes gouged out and his skull cracked. Shockingly, letting strangers touch his eyes with their bare fingers led to an infection!

Before Pedro was rescuing Baby Yodas in The Mandalorian and hiding from plant zombies on The Last of Us, he was getting his eyes gouged out in Game of Thrones. He played Oberyn Martell, who died in a duel with Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane–played by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (thank you copy and paste). Pedro getting his head crushed by The Moutain really resonated with the GoT fans, and so a bunch of them would ask him to take pictures where they pretended to kill him, and he would agree. via Entertainment Weekly:

“I remember, earlier on, because of Game of Thrones and the way my character died… people were super into taking selfies with their thumbs in my eyes…”

“And at first, I was so earnest and happy about the success of the character in the show, I’d let them!”

Pascal added with a laugh, “And then I remember getting a bit of an eye infection.”

Culkin quipped, “Wow, that’s a lot of trust.”

Here’s the roundtable:

Which one of you filthy-handed beasts touched our husband’s eyes without washing your hands first?! We need to get samples of that infection and trace it back! They could have blinded Daddy Pedro, and we cannot allow this to go unresolved!
