Matty Healy Allegedly Ghosted His Model Girlfriend For Taylor Swift, Who Has “Never Been This Happy” In Her Life
It seems that 33-year-old Taylor Swift‘s new romance with 34-year-old Matty Healy of The 1975 (who was born in 1989) has shocked a whole slew of people. The Swifties probably didn’t want to see their Queen dating a man who openly admitted to loving racist torture porn (among other horrible things). And her now-ex, Joe Alwyn, reportedly thought she and Matty were just friends. And, apparently, Matty had a girlfriend as well: 23-year-old model Meredith Mickelson, who sources say was “blindsided” about him moving on to Taylor Swift.
Taylor and Joe broke up last month after 6 years together, and apparently, Joe had been totally chill with Taylor and Matty hanging out at the end of last year for music purposes and was stunned when they got together. Welp, Meredith allegedly is in much of the same situation, as The Mirror spoke to a friend of Meredith’s who says she was “blindsided” when they went public. Meredith was allegedly dating Matty while he was recording with Taylor in LA for several days in February. Sources say she had “no idea” Matty and Taylor were getting closer, and they also say that earlier this year, Matty wanted to “hole up” with Meredith at her place and was reluctant to go out in public. Not being seen in public? I know what that means–he’s DL! But Meredith didn’t see the red flag until March when he stopped talking to her. Yeah, that’s not a red flag he’s already left the chat:
“She did not see this coming at all. All the time Matty was in the studio with Taylor, she thought nothing of it. He’d spend the day in the studio and then come home to her…”
“Things were going well until around March 29 then, out of the blue, he stopped replying to messages and calls…”
“He just ghosted her and that was it. Then, four weeks later, he went public with Taylor.”
She was totally blindsided and, of course, it has stung her a bit. She doesn’t want to play the victim and has no intention of saying anything publicly.”
But those of us in her inner circle who she has confided in are quite angry about how he treated her, and feel that he is not a good guy.
“His reluctance to be seen out and about with her in February now appears in a very different light.”
But Taylor can actually breathe easy because Meredith knows better than to try to come for Taylor Swift is a huge fan, and apparently, she’s told friends, “I hope he treats her better than he treated me.”
“Meredith is actually a big fan of Taylor’s–she’s posted her songs on TikTok in the past.”
“She respects her as a strong, independent and talented woman and she has no interest in bad-mouthing her. Her attitude is very much, “It is what it is,” and she hopes Matty is in love with her enough to treat her well.”
And I guess that Matty really is treating her “right” because People says that over the weekend, Taylor proclaimed her intense happiness during one of her Eras shows in Boston:
The pop superstar took a moment before performing Midnights track Question…? outside of Boston to let her fans know just how she was doing on Saturday night.
“I’ve just never been this happy in my life in all aspects of my life ever,” Swift told the crowd at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, which was captured on social media. “And I just want to thank you for being a part of that.”
“It’s not just a tour, I just sort of feel like my life finally feels like it makes sense,” she continued. “So I thought I’d play this song which brings me a lot of happy memories.”

Crazy how these two have been publicly dating for a little over a month, and already it’s a total shit show featuring jilted exes, racist porn, and Nazi salutes. I guess Taylor is making up for the lost time of dating Joe for all those years with him being a private person by now running through a relationship with a public mess in the span of a few months.
