Hours After Nebraska Passed An Anti-Abortion And Anti-Trans Bill, Lizzo Clapped Back At Lawmakers During Her Show
I really wish people would stop doing things to piss Lizzo off because we already know she bites her tongue for no one. And the voice of the people has put down her magical flute to clear her throat and make her thoughts known once again. This time, Lizzo is sounding off on Nebraska for its latest “You can’t sit with us” law involving abortion access and healthcare for trans youth. Hours after the bill was passed, Lizzo, who was performing in Omaha, immediately shared her thoughts about the ban but directed her words to the young people who may be affected by these laws. And basically, she said, “Fuck them laws! Do you boo” but in a much more professional manner.
The Independent reports the law, which some lawmakers attempted to block because they have common sense, puts a specific ban on abortion access at the twelve-week mark. Coupled with that bill is a ban on access for trans youth because why not? via Yahoo!:
The Nebraska Legislature on Friday approved a 12-week abortion ban and restrictions on gender-affirming care for people younger than 19 in a move so contentious that lawmakers on both sides have said they may be unable to work together in the future.
Conservative lawmakers called in a visibly ill colleague so they would have enough votes to end a filibuster and pass a bill with both measures. Republican Gov. Jim Pillen, who pushed for the bill, has promised to sign it into law.
And that brings us back to Miss Lizzo. She rides hard for the LGBTQ+ community and doesn’t give a damn about Nebraska’s antiquated way of thinking. During her show, she took a moment to express her disappointment with the law, but she also had a positive message for the youth, letting them know she sees them.
At a show in Nebraska hours after the vote on Friday night, the artist Lizzo lambasted the legislation from the stage. “It really breaks my heart that there are young people growing up in a world that doesn’t protect them,” she said.
“Don’t let anyone tell you who you are. … These laws are not real. You are what’s real, and you deserve to be protected.”

I think we need to get Lizzo off the stage and into the capitol because she sounds more intelligent than all of the Nebraska lawmakers who thought of this madness. And her campaign slogan should be “It’s about damn time…for common sense. Vote Lizzo!“. I can guarantee she would win by a landslide.
