Joe Alwyn Is Reportedly “Distraught And Slighted” Over Taylor Swift’s Immediate Romance With Matty Healy After Their Break Up
It looks like the Swifties aren’t the only ones who are “distraught and slighted” over Taylor Swift’s new problematic romance with The 1975’s racist torture-porn-loving mess Matty Healy. Her ex, Joe Alwyn, is too, apparently. And since Joe Alwyn co-wrote songs and co-produced Taylor’s album, Folklore, which got him a Grammy, I can’t wait for him to go solo and release his first diss track titled Distraught and Slighted. Because that’s what sources say he’s feeling over TayTay moving on to HIM.
Joe and Taylor dated for six years before shockingly breaking up last month. A few weeks later, she was linked to Matty and the two have been sort of stepping out ever since. It’s not a Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello situation but the two are going on NYC double dates with Jack Anotoff and his fiancé, Margaret Qualley. Taylor and Matty have known each other for a while, dated for a second in 2014, and collaborated together on some music. We know what that could mean, but sources tell The Daily Mail that Joe “trusted” the situation with Matty while he and Taylor were together so the fact that she immediately started dating Matty afterward hurts:
According to a source with exclusive inside knowledge about the situation, Joe is very unhappy that his former partner has moved on so quickly – particularly after he put his “trust” in Taylor when she began collaborating with Matty during the final months of their relationship. “Joe feels slighted and is distraught after seeing her budding relationship with Matt, but is doing his best to keep busy and focus on himself,” a source close to the actor told DailyMail.com.
In November, Matty described Taylor as “amazing” while revealing that the pair had spent some time working together on her album Midnights–which was released in October 2022–something that the insider says Joe was in full support of at the time, putting his full “trust” in his then-girlfriend…
“Joe was aware that Taylor and Matt were making music together and collaborating. She told him that they had become friends and he trusted her,” the source continued, although they denied any suggested that there had been “overlap” between Taylor’s two romances.
And not only did they make music together during this time, but Taylor showed up to The 1975’s show at London’s 02 Arena to sing Anti-Hero, and she also took a picture with Matty’s 64-year-old mother, Denise Welch, backstage at the show. And Swifties were screeching at Emma Laird for a carousel-style Instagram!!! The audacity!
Wow, this is really Joe’s moment–I mean, he’s Olivia Rodrigo! He and his girlfriend broke up and she immediately started dating the guy he was not supposed to be worried about. He can write drivers license and become the biggest pop star in the world, sending Taylor on a shame spiral, and chipping away at her fame. John Mayer had better start emailing Joe some song suggestions because the only way he escapes Speak Now‘s release is if Taylor Swift falls before July.
