Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough Agree To A Settlement Over Lisa Marie Presley’s Estate

A quick minute after Lisa Marie Presley died earlier this year, her mother, Priscilla Presley, lawyered up and began a legal fight against Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter Riley Keough. What was the fight over? MONAY, of course. Because who doesn’t want to add a layer of “fighting with my granddaughter over money from her recently passed mother’s estate?” to grieving and mourning? Priscilla challenged a change that Lisa Marie made to her will before her death. But before this legal fight could get really messy, both sides have agreed to settle.

In 2016, Lisa Marie Presley made an amendment to her will, removing her mother, Priscilla, and her former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees. Lisa Marie replaced them with her daughter Riley and her son Benjamin Keough who later died in 2020. Shortly after Lisa Marie’s death, Priscilla took a look at that will change and que$tioned the “validity” of the amendment. So she went to the courts to challenge it. via CNN:

The petition, filed in January and obtained by CNN, alleged that Priscilla Presley did not receive the amendment while her daughter was alive, as required by her Trust, and that the document misspells Priscilla’s name. The petition also alleged that the amendment was not witnessed or notarized and questioned the authenticity of Lisa Marie Presley’s signature.

Priscilla’s arms must be getting tired from all that reaching! Misspelled her name? Nanna’s grasping at straws over here, trying to get her hands on the Graceland money pile. Well, Riley probably didn’t want to get into a big public fight with her grandma over her late mother’s money because the issue has been settled. Priscilla’s attorney, Ronson J. Shamoun, told reporters yesterday that Riley’s legal team will be submitting a settlement request for both the insurance and Promenade trust, which names Riley as the beneficiary of her late mother’s estate. People reports:

“They have reached a settlement. Families are happy,” Ronsen Shamoon, Priscilla’s lawyer, told reporters. “Everyone is happy. Unified and together and excited for the future.”

Justin Gold, Keough’s attorney added, “[Riley] would not have agreed to the settlement if she was not happy with it.”

The next hearing and motion for approval is scheduled for Aug. 4.

It’s not known how much Priscilla was paid by Lisa Marie’s estate to stop this mess, but a source tells TMZ that she got millions. So while most nannas love giving their grandkids greeting cards with a $5  bill tucked inside, Priscilla prefers to have it the other way but with millions stuffed into that card instead of a few bucks.
