Here’s The New Trailer For “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One”

As summertime blockbuster season attempts to grab folks by the wallets and get them back into the theaters, it’s finally time for aging action superstar Tom Cruise to receive his flowers once again. Last year, he drops kicked ‘Murica into madness with an update of the Top Gun franchise, Top Gun: Maverick. So now it’s time for another round of Tom’s timeless flips, spins, and kicks when Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One drops on July 12. And a whole year after the first trailer arrived, a new one is here that once again shows the union between Tom and a whole lot of CGI.

Variety reports Tom’s latest installment in the MI franchise will bring more action, more explosives, and more shoe lifts so he can stay in frame with the upcoming Dead Reckoning: Part One. Of course, all of this excitement must pale in comparison to drooling with pride while praising his play cousin King Charles at his coronation, but I guess this is kind of exciting, too, right? Especially since this may be one of the last times Tom gets to leap across rooftops in hopes of catching the early bird special at Denny’s so he can thwart bad guys on a full stomach.

Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” teasing Tom Cruise’s seventh, and likely penultimate, mission as IMF agent Ethan Hunt.

“Dead Reckoning Part One” is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who’s back after previously helming “Rogue Nation” and “Fallout.” The film is produced by Cruise, McQuarrie, J.J. Abrams, David Ellison and Jake Meyers. “Dead Reckoning Part Two,” which will be released on June 28, 2024, is expected to be Cruise’s final bow as Ethan Hunt.

The rest of the cast includes MI mainstays Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Tom’s BFF Simon Peg. I won’t lie, I’m a little upset Tom couldn’t find a role for his new potential boo Shakira, but perhaps he can pencil her into the final film. Maybe as a hip shakin’ assassin Tom falls in love with but he has to defeat her in a belly dance competition where she breaks her hip from trying to shake it too fast. I think that would be a nice break from all the car chases and motorcycle cliff death drops, but then again, what do I know?
