Bravo Reveals “Real Housewives Of New York: Legacy” Cast And Dropped The Trailer For The “RHONY” Reboot

Ever since Andy Cohen revealed Bravo’s two-part strategy plan for a Real Housewives Of New York legacy show and reboot, purveyors of train wrecks have been waiting for show updates longer than we’ve been waiting for Sonja Morgan’s toaster oven to hit the market! Now a year later, Bravo has finally released which RHONY messes are coming back to our screen- but the twist? Our favorite (and not-so-favorite) drunken messes are reuniting for season 5 of Peacock’s Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
Over the past year, Bravo held RHONY: Legacy hostage from us over rumored salary negotiations with ex-Housewife Jill Zarin, who supposedly walked out after being offered less money than the other women- which left viewers under the impression the spinoff show fizzled out. But People says that at yesterday’s NBCUniversal upfront presentation, Bravo announced that it turned its RHONY: Legacy season into the fifth season of Ultimate Girls Trip. The show will be filmed in St. Barts, and the cast includes certified wreck Kelly Bensimon. Bethenny Frankel won’t be back to tell Kelly to “GO TO SLEEP!” but to our surprise, Housewives OG Ramona Singer will be back despite declaring back in November that she won’t be returning to the show. via People:
Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Kristen Taekman will all be part of the outing, which begins filming next month. No premiere date was named, though it might not be until 2024 as season 4 of RHUGT, which filmed in January, has yet to premiere.
The women will be returning to St. Barts, where some previously traveled back in RHONY’s fifth season. That trip was without a doubt one of the most memorable in the history of the franchise. It is, after all, where Luann famously partying with Johnny Depp-lookalike Tomas Ribiero, sparking rumors of a hookup.
And along with Legacy news, Bravo “made it nice” by also dropping the trailer for its new RHONY reboot, which features the brand-new, younger cast of women who producers are hoping will resuscitate the show’s rating after a mess of a 13th season. The new cast will feature New Yorkers Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield. Lizzy Savetsky was part of the show but dropped out early on over anti-Semitic attacks against her.
Here’s a first look at the upcoming season:
Ahh. Nothing screams “NYC” like a group of transplants. So far, fans are split on the total cast overhaul- with some hyped to get to know these women, while other’s just want their original favorites back. I think we just gotta wait and see if these new newbies have the necessary delusion we live for.
